About Us:

 The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department is mandated to ensure and enhance public safety for the citizens of Boston, Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop. Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins oversees the Suffolk County Jail, the House of Correction, and the Suffolk County Community Corrections Center. The efforts of the operations and custody staff at all Sheriff’s Department facilities remain committed to the needs and changes of offender populations, rehabilitation and reentry services.

Reports to: Director of Information Technology

Objectives of this role:

The program coordinator will be responsible for overseeing I.T. activities details, and measuring overall success. Their duties will consist of managing various administrative tasks, tracking and ensuring that the IT Group meets company goals. The ideal candidate will also strive to create positive experiences for all participants and repeat best practices for future projects.

  • Monitor every step of each project for successful completion
  • Drive the completion of IT initiatives
  • Track relevant expenses for activities and materials
  • Lead team meetings to discuss progress and maximize productivity
  • Manage the IT project road map
  • Request  necessary supplies for internal department setup and execution
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment
  • Generate reports and records for all project-related request
  • Oversee daily administrative, operational, and logistical activities
  • Maintain consistent communication with leaders and departments

Skills and qualifications:

  • Demonstrate experience in coordinating activities and events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Firm understanding of procedures that increase efficiency
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and budgeting processes
